BRANDING is how one goes about establishing a brands differentiated meaning in consumers minds. Branding is not to be confused with advertising and the word “branding” should not be confused with the word “brand”. Branding is the tangible occurrence (process) of developing and managing the signals that convey a brand concept. Branding signals (a form of advertising) create associations. Branding is the transmission of an idea. Advertising is a brand signal.
ADVERTISING is just one of many different branding signals a brand can employ to get it’s message out. Many brands use advertising as their primary branding signal. Advertising is all about making a connection and building a repoir with a consumer. Advertising, if deployed right, connects people to a brand and drives loyalty. Advertising is the primary way brands keep them selves relevant and top of mind within a competitive and crowded marketplace.
INTERACTIVE The word interactive by definition, means “mutually or reciprocally active; of, relating to, or being a two way electronic communication system that involves a user’s orders or responses. The world is now digital, and interactive communications are a big part of the way we now enhance brand awareness and communicate with the consumer. Interactive communications come in many different shapes and sizes such as, web sites that inform and enable, social media, mobile media, viral marketing, rich media e-mails, text promotions, banner advertising and campaigns, web video and animation.
